anyway, I'll rewrite it and keep it shorter:

I appreciate you taking the time to reply; however, I already have a portofolio website setup, and around 750 business cards just laying around; I had more, but I gave them away, with no success whatsoever; I have some eastern european web designers waiting for me to send them work at a fifth of the payment I would get from clients here (advantages of speaking 4 languages), so I could outsource most of the work, allowing me to concentrate on my studies; however, the market is really stuffed with web designers here, and most of them are large companies that have an actual office and multiple employees. I can't compete with that unless I can offer something spectacular... that being said, there is a lot more offer than there is demand, and competition is fierce, and as such, I'm thinking of trying another niche, as this is over-used already, locally ... I've had 2 projects all throughout last year, and that's where the little bit of money I have came from;

Do you have any other ideas? maybe how I could dominate the local market, inspite the obvious disadvantages I have compared to my competition?

First of all, I know it's me and ONLY me that can get me out of this sh*thole I'm in.
Having said that, I don't consider I have to realise it's my fault; my fault for what? for the fact that my parents are poor? for the fact that they're having financial problems and that they can't keep helping me anymore? no; it's nobody's fault, I take it as bad luck;

I am, however, thinking about getting a job, inspite of my studies; dropping out of university, on the other hand, is a last resort that I wish I wouldn't have to get to.

you have made some valid points in your post, and I know I shouldn't expect magic to happen overnight, but I would like it to happen if I work hard enough to earn it.
in the last 2 years I've been sleeping an average of 5h/night in order to give myself enough time for learning and self-improvement, and I finally think it's time to see some results, that's why I'm thinking about investing what little money I have into IM or local SEO/web design as a last shot at getting some results ...

I would say getting a daily job + IM is a way to grow more quickly for extra money. Since IM can be unpredictable sometimes, and daily job will help you with some more stable way of income.

There are no "retard" proof / bullet proof methods but there are ways of earning money. It's rather about taking action than to actually find something that works. Check the phone catalog for businesses, go online and check which businesses doesn't have a website, write all of them down and there you have a good list of potential clients. Call them up and either try to setup a meeting or take it over the phone, tell them who you are and what you can do for them (a good website). Take a monthly cost for the hosting (or yearly) and some money for the website in itself.

I've tried that already; most of the clients didn't trust me, as they said I was like the tenth marketer to call them up from the phone book, and that they don't want a website; the only 2 projects I got were refferenced by friends, meaning here in France, most probably, this is the best advertising; I am thinking of setting up a refferal program, offline, like getting people from my friends' friends' social circles to do this in an extensive marketing plan in order to earn some pocket money, but I don't think I have the required marketing experience for such a scheme.

But what you say stands true, I have to take action, and I have to do it fast. I just canceled all my plans for this weekend; I'm staying at home, learning from morning to late at night, I'm starting one business or another before tomorrow night, I have to take my shot at this!

Eh? I meant you could make money tutoring fellow students in some or all of the languages you speak. Leverage something you are already well-versed in; your existing knowledge base. Even the simplest IM methods will take time to produce for you, and will bring you dangerously close to your 2 month deadline of irreversible doom.

Go freelance with your web design skills. In your situation honest work = fair price, that's what you need now. MMO and BH methods are suited for when you have some room to move.

And don't tell people you will be homeless when freelancing. No one likes to work with unreliable people, they will think where you will work, what if no internet connection, what if you don't deliver, etc...

For 2 years I earned my Bachelor's by taking classes at night AFTER I worked my full time day job (IT professional) AND worked IM part time - all along with a family.

Don't blame it on chance and don't you dare blame it on your parents. Your parents raised you to the point where you could get into that Uni - if they can pay for part of it - good for them. If they can't - IT'S ON YOU. Don't feel so entitled where you think that it's anyone responsibility other than your own to get you through it - grades AND payment. Take out loans if your country has the option but if you have to drop to part time - or drop out for a period of time to get your finances in order, then that's what you do.

I worked DAY LABOR (back breaking HARD physical work for minimum wage) when I was in my early 20s so I had enough cash to put gas into my motorcycle to look for a better job. I taught myself most of the computer skills I have today but just recently completed my Bachelor's degree because I wanted to 'fill in the gaps'.

Stop blaming the world for your situation - get off your a$$ and find a way to make it work.

I think he wasn't complimenting your intelligence when he said 'tutoring'. You should BE tutoring, that gets you money. I teach English to a few girls a week for 10 euros an hour and that gets me something extra that definitely helps. You've got studies, too. Make the best of it, parents are always trying to get their kids to be smarter. They'll pay for it.

I think what you're doing is very brave, I have no IM knowledge so all I can do is wish you luck!

- you need your cognitive skills to think out a method
- you need technical skills to perform your method

If you need money fast, get a local job. if that's even to hard, don't try IM because it's harder....
