Thanks for the thread proxygo - I didn't know about that Chrome method to seperate proxy settings, that's handy.

I've spent ages looking for a solution to this though: how can we use proxies in browsers that require a username and password? The only way I've found so far that I think would work is using FoxyProxy Plus, a commercial Addon for Firefox.

It's not very expensive (starts at $20 which includes 1 year of updates) and based on the free version I wouldn't have an issue paying for the extra functionality but surely there must be another way?

problem is, much of the time its never the addons people
really want. as for proxy addons ill have to dig around see
what i can find

i dont know if this has been said or not yet, but there is a google chrome plugin called Proxy SwitchySharp (stupid name, i know). It allows you to switch between multiple proxies very easily. What I do is create a new google chrome user for each unique account i need to log into. I install the above plugin on each and give them each their own proxy. Then all i have to do is select that account from the list of users and I am presented with a new chrome window using that account's proxies and complete with it's own set of cookies and history. Works beautifully.
