Most AA lists will work fine with NHSEO. The main issue at hand is the quality of the links created. If you are looking to run these lists against your own websites I would have a good think about whether you actually want to. Just remember that if you get lots of failed posts with a public AA list it is likely because the site has been so massively bombarded with comments that it has either removed comments or taken the site down altogether.
All of these lists, especially public/free lists, will have comments in the 10s or even 100s of thousands so they will all have a huge amount of outbound links which is a massive indicator that the links are of a low quality so the ranking benefit will be negligible if it is even positive.
