What site builder are you guys using?

Ive been somewhat limited with Wordpress lately, and want to try Wysiwyg site building for a while. I have yahoo site builder and love it, but want to explore the other options out there. Any suggestions?

Just learn html, css, and hand code your websites. If you want wysiwyg try Dreamweaver.

Wordpress is everything you need dude. Learn CSS and HTML and you will pick up PHP as you go. Trust me. I only use Wordpress ^^

Thanks for the suggestions. But see my post asked what WYSIWYG editor you use, if it was as simple as "just learning" HTML and CSS I wouldn't have posted.

Not too sure. but I doubt it, Yola. Weebly and Wix all host the sites which you build on them. They all have great hosting too, so not much point moving the site anywhere.

Site builders are useless if you can't export the code.

I remember a friend of mine and I tried to start a business a few years back... first things first, we needed a website. He said "I'll take care of it, I know what to do." Then I said, "hey , just don't do something stupid like use wix." He kinda smirked... I thought he understood.

As I was doing other tasks, he calls me up a few days later and is like hey check out ournewsite.com. So I check it out, and sure as shit, he made a wix site. This was when they used flash only and google couldn't read flash. Soon after that, they started doing html. So he converted it to html, and paid like 30 bucks a month or something. The site looked decent... but then I explained to get proper SEO, we really need to host this by itself. If there are a ton of our competitors on the same ip...

Wix doesn't let you export the code. You can try to page source it, but you can't get the css and other stuff.

Wix is fine if you're starting out, but if you want to own your business and own your website, you need to host it yourself. IMO..

Completely agree with above, it all depends on what you intend on doing with the site, if it is for a business, I would forget it. I use things like Yola for simple splash pages and throw away sites and for making tiered links, one thing is Yola seems pretty good for ranking in low comp keywords.
