Not if they're in the walls, cabinets, etc... I think mice can squeeze through a gap less than a quarter of an inch, or something.

Meet in general is just really bad for you. The body only needs 10% of your daily diet to be protein, anything above that is turned into "waste".
Basicly, rat's carry pathogens and bacteria since they are bottom feeders - this is on a whole different level then something like chicken or beef product. It also goes beyond just cooking it. The meat genomes go bad because of the pathogens/bacteria, if not handled correctly - disease is easily spread from non-cooked meat to both other products (meat, vegetables..etc) as well as anything within it's general vicinity. 5,000 people in the U.S die each year from eating raw chicken. Rat is considered 100x more dangerous.
Then...you have to consider the processing of the rat meat. If would have to be cleansed similar to pork but at a higher amount. At the current moment to cleanse pork they wash it in bleach, and then ammonia, and then rinse it down with water. Then ofcourse they package it for you to each. YUMMY! Who wants bleach and ammonia for dinner tonight! Me mommy...I do!

I'm pretty sure they switched it over to pig anus, because it was longer delish.
My ole lady and I were listening to that episode, and we were both like:

Farmed raised rat meat is fine.
Heck we eat pork from pigs and they eat any and everything but the difference is that the pigs are farm raised so its in a controlled environment
