Web 2.0s PR is pretty irrelevant as subdomains don't gain any value from the main domain. Good share though. So the Wordpress Web 2.0 would be as good as the unknown web 2.0.

You are right in that the PR doesn't transfer to subdomains, but it does look better (authority wise) in the eyes of google than if it were published in a completely unknown source.
