Duplicated my site

Someone has made an exact duplicate of one of my sites. All the content, images - everything.

They made the mistake of leaving my Analytics code on there so I got the address but where does this leave me SEO wise? Will Google recognise they have copied me or will I lose rankings due to duplicate content?

The difference is I am running Wordpress and they have literally just somehow downloaded my entire site and placed it on a different server and used their own logo instead of mine.

You could also try a C&D scare if you can find their contact.

If they have a contact form, use it and pretend to be interested in whatever they have. Try and maybe get them on the phone or on skype. Then, call them out and ask them to remove it.

This is a good tactic too, I've read reports about people who have done this or had it done to them. Usually seems to hit closer to home when you warn them this way. You may even want to record it and use that as leverage if they seem resistant to removing the stolen content.

I don't really want to be up front with them as I rank highly for many keywords (which is probably the reason they copied it) and I don't want any negative SEO done on the site from them which if they are shady and copy peoples sites then im sure they would do a sly thing like that

I would just inform there host that they have blatantly copied your website and hosted it on there and that there in breach of copyright laws and will send a C&D letter if necessary

Yes hosts and registrars tend to do something about it, also if they are using affiliate links on the site, report the affiliate links to the relevant company who they are promoting.

I would like to know the same. It is not in wordpress format though they are all html so the search function and my ecommerce forms dont work but thats not the point hes literally taken my site, put his logo on and is using it as his own lol

I created all the images myself so he's stolen them as you can't buy them from anywhere.

If worse comes to worst ill change all my content and replace it with better content as it does need a little update but this isnt an affiliate site or anything, I sell things on there so its important not to look like any other site.
