Content Locker?

to be honest i've been hearing alot about content lockers. I have seen websites with them but i honestly don't know how they work. can someone please help me understand how they work? i would deeply appreciate it.

basically you promise the user to give him something he wants (video, picture, file, whatever) but he has to fill out typically some CPA form (mail submit, survey...) to access the content.

i figure that part out, what i dont understand is if the CL gives the ad or if the ad is external or something like that?

It can be anything you want, like I said it's usually some CPA offer (from a CPA network) or you can also create you own form to collect emails or whatever.

Try to find a network with a own content locker like AdscendMedia,AdworkMedia..etc
You don't have to worry to add the offers manually, they have a panel where you can control what offers to show..etc

Yeah it is a possibility and from my experience it usually sucks compared to your own locker. But it is certainly a good start.

Really if you have some knowledge, you can configure pretty well the offers and have a high epc and ratio without problems.
Anyways if you have an own content locker can help a bit more, for example if you're having problems to get leads for "x" offer in "x" country
you always can find a cpa network with better offers for these type of countries..etc
This also can help to you to don't put all your eggs in one basket (use different networks..etc)

Really if anyone don't have experience with CPA, I recommend to use an own content locker of their cpa network..
