What do you guys think about tier link building?

Hey guys I recently passed over Joseph archibalds 40 day challenge on the warrior forums and Patt flynns method on smart passive income. I can not link them unfortunately low post count. Basically they are building tier link strategys tier3>tier2>tier1>Money site and similar strategies.

I was curious what you guys thought about these types of strategies. I will be building my first tier by hand and providing relevant and quality content. Then tier 2 and 3 will be a bit spammy blasting the first tier which in turn points at my money site.

Welcome to BHW. Tiered Link Building is pretty common practice. These guys over there are by no means gurus, they're just talking about something that's been in practice for some time now.

Tiered link building is a good way of keeping your money site safe while still being able to employ BH methods to acquiring links.

After hanging around here for a little while you'll most likely pass them in their marketing abilities, and knowledge, then you can maybe go back and start teaching them a thing or two.

Tiered link building works for several reasons. The biggest being a more natural backlink structure without search engines knowing it's the same person. If you just put all of your backlinks from sites hosted on the same ip, it won't work. Another big reason it works well is because if done properly, it gives a better online reputation. When people search for the project or site you're marketing, they will find it in many different places.

Tiered links stopped working in early 2011, shortly after I posted my SEO blueprint.

Now we all have to do inbound marketing and beg for links. It is called outreach. Just watch some SEOMoz videos, dude. These people rank affiliate sites all day long.
