Hey guys, just a thought here...I have come up with a new way to create quality articles in just a few seconds by going to the local library, taking an older book in a specific niche, photocopying a page or two in a section, then running it through an OCR text program to convert to type. Throw it in a spinner and change some of the synonyms. Viola! Thoughts? There's no way this content would be online from an old book and you're only taking bits and pieces...this should work well I would assume?

Interesting idea, wonder how out of date the information would be though....

It depends on the niche really. My niche is photography, obviously I could just get a few books on lighting and I have fresh content for years. Or weight loss...the same methods really never change. The reason I would change the basic synonyms is only for the fact that *if* a publisher ever searched for the exact content (which I highly doubt would ever happen), the content would not come up.

Interesting ! I always struggle with writing. Could give this a try. Thank you very much.

Go to library, find niche book, find pages, print them, go home, sit in front of OCR, spin and pray Google hasn't scanned the book you pulled. 30 seconds?

Ok, go to library and check out a few books. Big deal. OCR and low-level spin takes less than 5 minutes. At least it saves brainpower...writing good content sucks.

I'm going to run down to my library now, and get windows3.1 for dummies and scan it in, voila!

Writing good quality content is not only easy, it should be one of your main skills. It is used in almost everything you do, from articles to CPC ads, to sales offers, and more.

Depends on the books. Most books have been archived (and indexed) in Google books.

Really? I didn't know that. F google, they have taken over the world. Maybe I will just scan an 1983 book on programming for atari. I bet they don't have that.

by just going to the library, it will take 30 minutes for me to go there...and you, 30 seconds? how do you do it? Maybe going to a library in just 30 seconds is a great method if you teach us how you do it.

I will re-edit the name of the thread " (-) drive time." Will that make you happy?

Well.. better we try this before decides it would work well. seems, it would take more time..

IMO it takes less time to write an article than going to the library, search for a good book then running photos through an OCR, adjust text, spin, change synonyms ...

Assuming that you only write one article then im gonna go with yes you are correct. But you see the OP said an entire book, so im thinking there are gonna be several articles, if not a couple dozen articles, produced from this book. This does work Ive done it for first tier web 2.0's and stuff. But I go to a book store and buy used books because im a horder.

On a side note everyone and there momma has scanned the dummies book to blah blah blah. So I would stay away from thous.

Given that the whole point of reCaptcha is to crowdsource the conversion of books to digital format en masse, I feel like this technique COULD work but the odds are higher and higher each day that the book you use will be in electronic format sooner rather than later, and taking that risk into account as well as the work involved to get one article from this method leads me to think that (for myself) it probably isn't worth it and I would rather just write original content! Thank you for the idea though, maybe some of you will have better luck with it than I am thinking.
