I am about to use the Url Removal tool in Webmaster Tools to hide some sub-pages from Google Search results.
These urls although popular have some sensitive info that I dont want to share anymore.
Is it possible that I will notice a drop in my rankings after this action?

it will drop the rankings for those exact pages, i don't think it will hurt your main domain rankings or the rankings of the other inner pages on the domain..

it may affect your ranking because inner pages link to the main domain
and as you said they are already ranking so its a bad idea to remove the page
rather you can simply hide the sensitive information or create a new page for that and link it from the old page
and disallow google from crawling your newly created page (with sensitive information) using robots.txt

it is not always correct that inner pages link to the main page :)
