Hi,

I've just became a member 12 hours ago and since then found out that the plans I have for my website might backfire.

My website will be a combination of different media like blog, forum, but also a job board. I will be needing job ads to attract traffic and the only way I can get ads up in the beginning is by copying them from other websites and reposting them on my own.

Will this hurt me in any way?

Any site that is just a feed and re-hash of other sites has the potential for penalisation or being ignored, as Google will see the content as belonging to someone else. It won't necessarily mean you're penalised, but your pages may just be ignored and very hard to index.

Friend, I suggest that you think about it in the long run, you want to build your own credibility through your own ideas and hard work. For me, that is what always pays off the best, not just blatantly copying other people's content. Put your own twist to it to make it 10x better. Good luck

I hear what you are saying but in this case its the chicken or the egg idea. There will be a lot of unique content on my website. But that part i just don't see another way of doing it.

Will it help if i make small changes to the adds? Maybe in the title and a few words in the body?

Dankje,

When you say you are copying ads from other sites, what exactly do you mean by that? Are you actually taking display ads and reposting them on your website? If so, I'm not sure I follow why you need to do this unless you mean something else by ads other than advertisements.

Best,

Shawn

Shawn,

i'm talking about wanted ads. They are 30% of my website. I was planning on posting them on my website and write and email to the employer, give him a link to the posting and invite him to post the next job himself FOR FREE. the sites i get the ads from charge for posting.

greetings
Dankje
