Hello BHW,
Hope things are turning good in your life !
In my last thread , I talked about what to check Before Buying High PR aged Domain. The full post can be seen in at this URL
Today, I would dive into maintaining a blog network. Lets take it in points:
1. Whois Protection?
If I take 50 websites with same name. I would be caught in less than 50 days. So Whois protection is the first step. What you can do is ...you can register two three websites with some names (obviously different) ...for rest of 45-47 get the who is protection.
You will have to pay around $6-8 per year for each whois protection you get.
2. Dedicated IPs:
Actually I am a fan of Dedicated IPs. Though it all depends upon the money you want to invest in the network and how big the network you are planning, I would suggest to go for dedicated IPs if you have money.
3. Hosting:
Certainly I should have taken this as point 1, Not ?
This is the thing which bothered me a lot , when I set up my first blog Network.
(a) Shared Hosting with multiple hosts
(b) Hosting from SEO hosting Companies
I have evaluated each of the above option. No Doubt both options are good options.
Lets see (a)
It requires a lots of things from you. Its certainly a good idea but think over it.."Managing 50 different hosts ...their user platform..each of access...would be different with each of them.."
But at the end of the day, If you can manage 50 hosts, You can do wonders and you can be more protective as compared to option (b)
Lets see (b)
Its super easy to use. You can see all of your IPs and websites from one control panel. But if you are going for this one you have to be sure for two things
(1) You need to have different series of IPs....50% of seo host companies would take care for this one but rest 50% wont take care of this one. So you have to be sure that you dont get All IPs with same B Series / Even a C Series like this
x.x.5.x, x.x.6.x, x.x.7.x and so on...
(2) Get different Name servers for each of the IPs....
(4) Inter Linking ?
Dont ever Inter Link you blogs in the network. You might loose some cross PR juice but that's the way it is. Dont ever inter link your network
Though It not a complete guide , we can add more things to it.
