Oh F**k. 90% CTR.......

Hello BHW. Well, not sure what's happened here - could be numerous things but I checked G account and, well, as above CTR. Needless to say I am crapping myself now that a ban will be forthcoming. Any suggestions? Should I purchase some traffic to reduce the average CTR? Any help, as always is much appreciated. My usual CTR is around 1- 2%

your not the only one buddy. during the last 2 days my CTR is around 65-84% that's why i have deleted my adsense on my website for the meantime. I dont know if taking it out is correct or wrong though.

That's if you want to test to find out if they have empathy, unless you know you did some shit you "shouldn't have" been doing.. But I think doing some sneaky shit and then removing your ads, uhh.. i don't really know what might cause it since it is so sudden. Im also thinking of doing what you are planning. maybe using some traffic viewer here to reduce the CTR.

All my traffic are organic and never use any bots or software to increase it. You think it would be ok to contact G and ask why the sudden increase in CTR?

I had a similar traffic spike a couple of days ago.. turns out a few of us here did. I think its Google testing or something.. idk.. in anycase any defensive action on your part is going to look suspicious in Google's point of view, will probably raise flags with them. If you haven't sent any fake traffic to your sites, I would just not worry about it (maybe am totally wrong, I get about $0.2 a day from adsense, its not at all my main business)

Sending fake traffic to your site will surely make it worst. Try to install statcounter in your blog, trace where the clicks is coming from. Analyze it if it is invalid clicks(click bomb) or legit clicks. If it is invalid clicks, try to block the IP Address of the clicker.

If blocking IP Address doesnt stop the clicker, disable your ads in your site and report it to google.

It is with some relief to hear that some of the pros have experienced this too. I suppose that any kind of action is going to create suspicion from G, after such a high CTR. Thanks for the quick responses all. There are some elements of BH and also WH with my site. Still not sure whether to buy some traffic to water down the averages or just to leave things and wait until the end of the month....I'm not too sure about contacting G, may bring additional unwanted attention.....

Wow! I am sorry to hear about your CTR. I agree if it were me I would remove the add ASAP just to avoid anymore bad clicks. Then I would use stat tracker to track where the traffic is coming from. Also try to improve more natural traffic in hopes of increasing CTR. Wish you the best of luck

Had this issue a while back. Just removed the ads and waited a week then added them back with no problems. I wouldn't worry about contacting Google either.
