Well,It's not like I am into illegal activities, but I just want to be safe, as DMCA can file a complaint for basically everything if they want, not necessarily hosting copyrighted materials, so...

If you're not violating the DMCA (federal law) then you have nothing to worry about.

Thats not necessarily true, they could file a complaint for no good reasons if they want, I just saw a thread here about it ("Internet.bs banned my domains after receiving DMCA complaints") yesterday.

Seems like that person was using registered trademarks... so that's a good reason for internet.bs to take action after receiving the take down notices isn't it? Looks like internet.bs even generously gave that person a second chance to stop breaking their TOS.

Someone could indeed file a false take down notice. Of course they would be subject to liability, and that's why people don't generally file false take down notices.

Thanks for replying. I think that person said that he/she changed the name after they received the first warming, but they still suspended the domain names afterward, no?

Nah I don't think so. I just re-read what the emails from that thread said and I didn't get that impression at all. Looks to me like OP removed the offending content for a little bit but then switched back after the domains were reactivated.

I've had internet.bs suspend domains of mine (not for DMCA violations), and I've found that if you stop doping whatever it is that could get them in trouble they're pretty understanding and easy to deal with.

I see, thanks for sharing your experiences with internetbs. so, at the end, none of your domains actually get suspended permanently?

I won't go into details but serious stuff relating to Spamhaus. I was just happy the account was still active, and didn't care about the domains so I let them stay on hold until they expired.

If I were able to resolve the issue with the domains I'm sure internet.bs would have re-activated them, but there was no way that was going to happen given the situation. Internet.bs has had huge problems with that organization so I wasn't about to push the issue for under $50 worth domains that I had knew would be throw-aways eventually anyways.

Despite what some may say I really do think they are a good registrar. Not bullet proof by any means, and don't count on them to keep you personal information secret from law enforcement or court orders.... But still a good registrar.

Are there any good offshore providers that ignore dmca(only us providers have to follow dmca law), and its easy to register with fake info? Im looking to get a offshore based domain as well.
