I am newbie and would like to get your expert opinion on something. I would like to get your opinion on this peculiar spam technique used apparently to create backlinks. To get an idea search in google for 'Altaro 250' without quotes and check out the results..... It appears there's an auto-blog kind of spam going on and the question is do this kind of backlinks help? If it doesn't with ranking what else could be the point in growing all these blogs with auto content?

This method has always worked and will continue to if utilized correctly. If used incorrectly if can be very harmful to your site, but many people are following the churn and burn method these days anyways.

OK thanks for the answers so far. Now if we look at one of these particular auto blog pages we see a bunch of random links also at the bottom. The content appears to be 100% duplicate except the random links at the bottom. The question is: A. What is the 'correct' way to do an autoblog? B. What should NOT be done? C. How not to get caught. D. Why do these links count if they do? Isn't it duplicate content, like a press release?
