Hello guys

It might seem a noob question but hopefully it's not. By the way I searched a lot about this topic on the forum and found nothing, at least I tried.

So, I started a new website and since I'm going white hat I begun doing some 2.0 blogs (wordpress, blog, blogspot...) with quality content on them linking to my money site.

My main question is: What's the difference between a) 20 2.0 blogs that are indexed but have 0 backlinks and b) 20 2.0 blogs that are indexed and I backlink them with other let's say 30 2.0 blogs each! I'm trying to be as white has as possible.

As I know, 2.0 blogs transfer authority... but if they don't have any backlinks do they have enough value to be worth building them?

Thank you very much for your answers!

The great opportunity you have with popular web2 platforms is to get internal links from other bloggers and possibly even homepage if your content rocks. That itself is worth much more than most links you can build to your web2. Inbound links help, as long as they are somewhat targeted. I think some guys recommended to use Sape for that.

Any other opinions, please?! Should I start backlinking my 2.0's, will it have any effect on my money site?

In my opinion, it is better for your web 2.0 sites to have backlinks. Let's say you're using the web 2.0 sites to link to your money site, that would be tier 1 links. Then you need to have tier 2 links which will point to your web 2.0 sites. Social bookmark links will suffice your tier 2 links as a start.

Web 2.0 sites should have some effect even without backlinks, because some link juice is transferred from the main site. However, if you add links to your 2.0 sites, even more juice will come to your sites.

I am using a similar SEO strategy. I build web 2.0 blogs and then I build links to those with more automated software. Right now I am just sending bookmarks and some other quick links, which I haven't seen results from yet, but I will be adding more soon. I think the sites you are making are worthless unless you link to them, especially if you are putting quality content, you want it to work.

So far I have about 9 web 2.0 blogs with about 5 quality articles on each and I have been linking to those with automated software for past 5 days. Hopefully will see some results soon :)

Set up a tier 2 in your favourite seo software - it's a very legitimate whitehat model that can be scaled radically.

Web 2.0's are good buffer sites, but you're at risk of being deleted if you overshoot the spam threshold.

Just play it safe and use good quality content, while building tiers of back links. Each back link tier can become more and more spammy as you go :)

What do you mean the "even more juice will come to your sites." ? I am not sure what does the "juice" means!

This is a very simplified explanation of "juice".

Every site has a certain power based on authority, content and other factors. Imagine this power as a juice glass. If your site don't have a lot of authority, the glass is empty or almost empty. The more authority it has, the more "juice" is in the glass.

And when that site links out, it's the same as pouring that juice to another glass. So from a big authorative site, you can pour more "juice" (it doesn't disappear from the original site though) to other sites via links. If your site is not powerful, there is only a little bit of juice to share.

How to get more juice? Get authority. How you get authority? Links, social signals etc.

I hope this helps a bit.

This is the first thing you should know about linkbuilding. Backlinks help as long as they are quality ones. So it is better to build some backlinks to your web 2.0 but not spammy links.

Just make sure you're building quality links pointing to them and you won't have to worry about anything. Stay away from spam and you'll be fine.

So if I backlink each 2.0 blog with let's say 30 other 2.0 blogs (which don't have any backlinks) am I doing something good or not? :)

Another question: does more same type of 2.0's (let's say wordpress) help? I mean if I build 5 or 50 blogs, does it make any difference?

Why not backlink for Tier 1? Do it now or your Tier 1 have no power !

Another web2 strategy would be to interlink your properties at least randomly. Lets say you have 10 web2 sites, then interlink some of them while pointing most of your links to the two strongest items. Use bookmarks and forum links to moderately blast your weaker web2 sites. It's a mix between linkwheel and pyramid and works well. In case you overblast your low quality web2, all you need is to delete them.
