Hello guys. I downloaded the official software yesterday. But at the bottom it said 700,000 blocks remaining. Today morning it says 56,000 blocks remaining. What does this mean? Will I get 50 bitcoins once it comes to zero blocks remaining? Thanks for the help.

It uploads the contents of your HardDisk to the Internet, once the process is complete you'll get 50 bitcoins + VAT if the information on your HD was useful.

That's only if the info was useful. If it's more than useful, you'll even get 100 bitcoins.

Yep, they hash your files and check how unique they are. If you have unique large files - you get the payment.
So before that process finishes try to download some new videos.

Yeah, there is a whole division in CIA and FBI which deals with this stuff and evaluates the content.

They are trolling. It's quite difficult to regularly generate bitcoins.

You get 50 bitcoins if you are the first person to succesfully add the next number to a 256-bit SHA-256 hash. It is very processor intensive and if you are just using your CPU forget about it, you'll have better luck winning the lottery. You need massive computational power to be able to be lucky enough to solve the next hash and actually be the person to get bitcoins.

You will not get 50 BTC. Reward for successful solution was halved in December last year. Please, educate yourself before you bankrupt yourself with electricity costs.

Ya, it is not 50 bitcoins for the reward now, since it was halved in last year December, you will only get 25 bitcoins for the reward. Note that this is really hard to mine by yourself nowadays if you are using personal desktop or laptop. I suggest you join a mining pool where people use their combined hash power to mine the bitcoin, if the mining group is rewarded, it will be shared among the miners.
