Hi guys

Ok, I'm not usually one to cry for help but i've got a pretty fcking lousy situation... I recently changed my hosting package and was proceeding to update the DNS on each of my sites... Now I have one domain name on a european domain name company and this is one of my bigger sites. And since last Thursday, I've been trying to update the domain name servers and when I click on "update DNS".. i get redirected to a fcking blank page with a big red " We're sorry, but something went wrong."

Add to that that these jackasses have no customer service from Friday 5pm to Monday 9am and you can understand why I'm starting to tear my hair out. My hosting company temporarily redirected my site to the old server but they said that will only last a few hours.. 24h max.

Sunday is one of my bigger money days... fuck! Is there anything I can do? Or do I just have to wait until Monday morning to call their customer service?

try transferring the domain on other server and change the dns there or contact the hosting company asap.

try to visit your site through : pagewash.com and see if it is live or no . sometimes, it is only your cachee of your browser.

I would really push on the hosting company to do it for longer than a day. Explain how important it is to you..emphasize the fact that you just upgraded hosting packages with them and even though it's not their fault, it doesn't make sense that you should suffer as a result.

Does the registrar list any other options beyond "Update DNS"? You could always toss the site in a temporary folder or different domain name on your new server and have the domain set to just redirect to that URL just for Sunday.

Beyond those options I think you'd just have to wait. Good luck!

Don't be cheap when it comes to hosting and go with a reliable provider. :)

Thanks for the tips. Actually my current hosting provider is really top notch and as mentioned did what they could to fix it (actually site is still running). Its the domain name provider which is sucking balls..

Who is the Registrar?

www domaine.fr , what a bunch of tossers.. don't ask me why i registered with them, that was one of the first euro domains I bought.. since then I've just been sticking with godaddy and fxdomains, never had any problems.

You should definitely transfer those domains over to your GD account. It's probably worth the cost to have more flexibility and customer service behind you so you never have to worry about this shit again.

I'm glad your host stepped-up though and helped you out and you didnt lose any possible sales.

Sure its not a propagation issue ? When ever i have to update a DNS from a domain that is registered with "networksolutions" (i believe they are in the UK) it usually takes about 3 days. Im in the US and i guess it takes around 72 hours worldwide. Im sure if my host was in EU or UK maybe it would be faster. guess not.

If it is a propagation issue there is nothing your web host can do. If you just changed ur DNS im guessing thats what it is.. All you can do now is clear cache > refresh and keep on doing it till u see.

One thing you can do is resolve your domain. that should tell you where its still pointing..

If its not the propagation, sorry for wasting your time :)
