It's not easy to sell something you know very well. But it's probably really hard to sell something you don't know (not sure, I never tried this weird approach )

No you can't just resell the theme, people want to have a complete website and they don't want to take care of anything.

What you can do is:

1) Find clients
2) Show them a list of templates (don't need to tell me where they can get them) to see what they want
3) Buy a theme
4) Outsource the work on oDesk to create the site with the theme you purchased
5) Deliver it to your clients.

That way you will get some bigger margins. For example:
1 themeforest theme at 45$ = 45$
50 hours of work on oDesk at 4$ = 200$

So total costs = 245$ and you can sell it for 2000$

I have a large amount of experience with b2b sales. Specifically with cold calling.

If that doesn't work for one person, put it on the back burner and try again when you run out of fresh leads.

It takes time management discipline, follow up discipline, and a set of brass balls.

I would suggest you try inventing something like helicopter shoes, or chocolate reclining chairs, at least you can make some decent money with those.

Try both then, pick a number like 10 deals, and then see after those 10 which group make the most, then build on that.

I was about your age when I first got into sales. Not this kind of sales... carry yourself well over the phone, act like a professional, and your age won't ever be a problem. If they ask, "how old are you?" "Well come on now... I'm old enough to build a quality product."
