I used Google Adwords Keyword Tool, using the [exact] option and without languages or locations filters. So the keyword shows 5.000.000 monthly searches and it says competition Low !! It is two-words keyword and it can be extended to 3-words to get 200k or 300k searches monthly.


Now about competitors, the first search results are to software pages in download.cnet.com, then you have other websites related to the keyword. Most of them have the exact keyword in the title and 3 out of 10 in the first page have the exact keyword in url.

You must search, find and follow any of the keyword research guides avaliable here

You should also check how many sites/pages have the keyword intitle and inurl combined, not just for the top 10 sites.
The total amount of pages that have the kw in title and url can be seen by searching the following in g00gle:
intitle:"keyword" inurl:"keyword"
Read through some keyword and competition research threads here on the forums, there's plenty of information about this already.

I used to think the same thing with the Google Keyword tool, i thought low competition meant in terms of ranking the page. But the competition they are talking about is in terms of Ads. So actually you want the competition to be HIGH. Higher competition for a keyword means that more companies will be willing to pay more for it.

The key is keyword competitive level. Can the keyword have a market samurai screenshot? If you can do this, we will be able to analyze better. Don't bother with Ad words data competition. It does not indicate SEO effectiveness. Ad words competition data only indicate competitiveness of product ads and is entirely separate from SEO competition.
