Bitcoin Malware 2,000 Clicks/Hr!!!

Some people are banking hard today.
I knew something like this was going to happen, although admittedly i thought hackers would be able to steal other peoples bitcoins from them or something.
(I don't know too much about bitcoins, outside of what I've read on the threads here, far too broke to care that much about them atm)
When people here started talking about anonymous digital currencies two thoughts popped into my head. The first thought was hackers are going to find ways to bank off these. The second thought was my ex was a computer genius....I should've stayed with her so I could be swimming in digital money right now...dammit.

The funny thing is that bitcoin source code is open source and any one can mess around with it lol.I think the power will soon shift to hackers/programmers bcz most ppl barely understand even how the hell bitcoin works.Even you could easily pay ppl to install adware to there computer and mine the coins.In the next few years i believe we will undergo a big change in economics!

well i waas just pondering about it and was like lets say this guy got 1 million installs and on each computer he mined 0.01 BTC in 1 day...thats 10,000 BTC which when converted in USD atm is almost $1,300,000 in 1 day only lol....well i realy dont know all about that rate thing and stuff...apparently its supposed to get harder to mine but this is just an example of how 1 person can realy bank big $$....aslo there are acouple of more coins...like litecoin...which are still in early stages

No need to install any binary, when the user visit the webpage where you imbed the code it will automatically generates bitcoin for you. But this will slows the visitors pc.

well thats still a substantial amount...like $ 12,000 and seeing that u said its easy to mine from web traffic..still duno how thats possible but u could still make quite some good $$!

Well no one is refuting that claim but theres actually goods and services being sold in BTC so it is quite easy to buy the goods and services and resell them...or u could just convert ur BTC to any other currency..preferably the USD.Alos given the fact that ur virtually untraceable when using BTC u can hardly get caught!

This is no big deal. Like the guy said, there is already a Wordpress plugin that does this. Your visitors can watch as their CPU temp goes high lol!
But bear in mind that it is probably not very profitable unless the person has a very good GPU. Most people don't.

So much misinformation in this thread. Tons of money made from botnets, bitcoin is open source and hackers control it, bitcoin is shady, the world is ending etc... ffs
Let 's do some math
CPU mining is worthless today. A consumer grade i7 does around 10Mhashes/sec (all cores). This means that with todays difficulty factor, it needs 4.5 fucking years to make 1 Bitcoin. In other words you need 1500 i7 CPUs working 24/day to make 1 BTC.
From the article, it shows the malware is doing full CPU utilization (so probably no GPU but doesn't really matter). When your PC is useless and makes big noise and heats up, do you leave it open for 24h?
So, let's say the average user needs a half a day of having the computer running to get help and clean it. Now you need 3.000 infected PCs to make 1BTC in one day. And they only last a day, so you constantly need to infect more. With 24k clicks/day and assuming he 's using a driveby exploit with 10% infection (i.e. good but not zero day), he 's getting 2400 new PCs per day.
Hooray, 0.8 BTC per day! You 'd risk going to jail for $115/day for a month or so?
Good luck with the javascript miners on your sites btw.
