Not true for every domain. I have domains 16+ years old and age does help but is not an tuomatic high price range either...

the domain I have is 9 letters and it will work! It all depends on how you brand the site!

if he has lots of money to burn then he can even fuck out fiverr or even wikipedia
but i think he will be never in loss because even if he fail to make a authority site
he will be able to sell that domain for more than 7k [ or for 20k after 10 years ]
[ there are so many auctions selling domains for more than $ 15 k ]

Regardless if you think he paid to much or not, for those who feel $7k fo one domain is a lot really seems to be out of touch with the internet and IM in general. Good domains get sold daily for $x,xxx and higher of course. What ever use the OP has he must have a plan and I am sure the domain will make back the money with good development.

With all due respect, you do not know what you are talking about. If it has been registered for that long it has massive authority. You just do no know how to capitalize on it. Even if it is a crap domain. it's a crap domain with strong authority.

Age is just one part of authority NOT the complete package. If I reg a domain today and kep it for 12 years as a "parked domain" that never sees any development the only "authority" that domain has is its age. Again age is just one factor not the end all authority. And BTW I do know what I am talking about when it comes to domains. But that is what a forum is for to talk about things

dont pay attention to the broke ignorance that now plagues this forum. Make it an authority site and rank in competitive legal key termslike "dwi attorney, dui laywer, child support, etc etc. And sell it off to a big firm!

i would go with this idea although i still think that 7k is a bit steep, unless it has something special like 100k bl and 80 DA.

I think your issue is you have a small language barrier , you posted a question in a way that was according to you to "bait people to respond", when you already had a plan for the domain.

Listen/Read what this man has said. I can tell from experience what he says is the truth. Age is only ONE factor.

Its like getting a sportscar, all done up, new paint, rims, everything except a clutch. Right now your aged domain is just a clutch, you still need to add everything else.

Slap some content up and then sell it. You'll get a lot more from a firm or whatever if it is an established website. We sometimes forget not everyone knows about this IM game.
