So let's say you make up a girl and create a blog about her. You then include some picture of a girl you find on the internet in your blog, claiming to be that girl, can you get sued? The picture itself does not have a watermark or anything. Now the picture might or might not be from an adult site, but if someone affiliated with that pic sees it by chance, could they do anything?

Answer 1- The chance of the REAL girl seeing her own picture is like winning the power ball lottery. Or anybody associate with the girl unless she is McDonna or Hillary Duff.
2- As long as you don't get involved with any person under 16 years of age. No law enforcement unit will be wasting/spending their time on you.
3-It seems to me you are trying to make a buck off that POOR girl or that blog. Do it in a way that you are not going to pissed off people. I mean not too much.
4- Make sure you will not be traced back with paypal or any payment system. then you are good to go.
5- The most important point is don't forget me after you make a buck or two.

Anyone can sue you if they have the time & resources. Even then they wouldn't do so unless they thought you had a lot of resources because its not going to do them any good to win a judgement against someone who really doesn't have much assets so they can't collect anything even if they do win. Just think how much it would cost them to sue everyone that borrowed their pics, I am sure your not the only one.
You never know but in my experiences if someone does happen to see something you "borrowed" from them then you will get a cease & desist letter telling you that you need to remove their content within 30 or 60 days to avoid further litigation.
Usually they will send you a letter or email first so just remove the pics and go "borrow" someone elses.

I'd imagine you could always just pay for a local wanna be model to do some photos for you. Around where I live we have one of those modeling schools and I'm sure you could find something like that near you. You can get the photos you want and you'll have the rights to do with them as you like if you get a signed release form.

It happened to me when with my "revenge on girlfriend" site.I found some pics with a girl and put them on the site and start promoting on forums.After a week or so i searched for my site on google and found some links on the forums.On one forum someone said smth like "OMG I know this girl.She goes to school with me in NY.Loool.Wait till i tell her.....i can't believe this etc." .

I'd rather be poor than try make money from that!
In short anyone can sue you for almost any reason, but the chances are pretty slim. When ever I do stuff that I shouldn't and it pisses people off I respond to their complaints promptly and unless it is a major hassle for me I take down whatever I put up that pissed them off. It pays to not have people calling your hosting company, and affiliate company. Even understanding ones will get pissed if they have to deal with constant complaints.
It doesn't hurt to respond with a non English looking email address and use broken English as well of course.
You owe me 3 squirts of glass cleaner for getting the damned mountain dew off my moniter! Good one...
