I setup an autoblog a couple days ago, and everything was working great. I managed to get backlinks on a couple good sites and was on the third page already. Now Im not on the third page Im probably much farther back. When I type in my domain to google I get this

Index of /
Apache/2.2.11 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.11 OpenSSL/0.9.7a mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at *******.com Port 80.
*******.com/ - 2k - Cached - Similar pages

What does this mean? its not showing the meta description like it was 2 days ago...

maybe your hosting provider had an issue when the spider came to crawl it :( happened to me once, it SUCKED

make some wordpress splogs which point to your domain, digg some content on your domain, stumble it, reddit it, squidoo lense it, blogger etc etc etc, then use pingler on allll those new links and your main site and it ''should'' hopefully reindex it within a few hours. At least, those are some of the steps I take when I launch a new website to get my site indexed within the same day, sometimes within only a couple hours even!

How would I use pingler on the other sites? also what exactly does pingler do? I read that pings just notify search engines when you update a post.

most of those free services I mentioned setup an rss link you can pingler. I'm not sure what your main domain is running, but if its a CMS it likely has an rss feed too. What if you don't have an rss feed? Make one using somethng like feedity.com and then ping anyway :D
I know pinging a site which isn't a blog doesn't make a lot of sense, but I stand firm that it's always helped me get indexed faster, blog or no blog. I cant say I fully understand why tho :)

edit: Oh yea, pinging sends a swarm of robots to your site it seems who want to crawl your ''latest post''. Thats the best way i can explain it, but feel free anyone if you want to correct me

Ok well Im running a wordpress blog. So once I make those websites I ping their rss feeds or I ping my sites rss feed?

I think in the case of wordpress you can ping the site itself instead of the direct feed, as the only service I've ever seen which asked explicitly for both was pingomatic.
pingler pings way more services out there anyway so its worth using.

ok so ive pinged my blog. Now I made another blog with a link to my current blog. Should I ping the second blog as well?

By the way thanks for all the help

yeah, and then digg both, stumble them, reddit, and all the other popular social bookmarking sites out there. The social stuff will help your domain out in the long run anyway. If you want ping those links too...why not? lol
Check back tomorrow or in a few hours and see if there's any change for your site. I can't promise it'll work 100% but I've seen my own sites get indexed very quickly doing very similar things
