I mailed out 100 letters yesterday evening pushing a re-design and 98/100 are in the same city as I am so the response should be pretty quick.

Costs thus far consist of:

1 Roll of 100 stamps ($46.00)
2 package of heavy stock paper ($38.00)
2 Ink cartridges ($29.00)
2 boxes of envelopes ($2.60)

I was going to hand write all of the addresses, but then I realized that my hand writing appears to be that of a drunken, 75% blind parkinson's patient. They ended up printed out instead :o

Response rate from this mailing will be posted when it's available. Price range is set at $1k-$2K for the main offering and will offer other services as an upsell (seo, social media, ORM, etc).

Only way to know if something works or not is to...

TAKE ACTION

I'd like to thank wasted, netmoney1, 7878 and the rest of BHW's action takers for putting these ideas & tactics in my head.

Stay tuned :ranger:

Now scrape 1m emails and do the same

I should have added that each letter was tailored to the person / business being contacted so it's not just blasts of spam.

Good luck buddy. Hope this works out for you. Good job on taking action.

A good idea would also be to contact these business personally, maybe even door to door. Showing them what you can do for them, and how they will benefit from it.

thats good that you took action.. let us know how many responded..

Hey, this definitely looks interesting and I am looking forward to see how it turns out.
I wish you the best and hope it works out good.

Cheers,
Unclemike

Yeah the plan is to wait until after the weekend and call every one of them and set up meetings.

3 paragraphs and a list of 3-4 fixes/enhancements/etc

Basically you introduce yourself with the letters and present your business and then you follow up with the phone calls.
I like it, this way you will have more chances of getting business since your prospects are already aware of your services. Good luck with it! I am really interested how it will go with the phone calls.
Keep us updated.

Cheers!

Yeah pretty much. Suuuuuper nervous about making the calls + walk-ins but I'm sure it'll up the close rate a good bit to be tenacious.

If you have read 3 books about the profession then you will be in the 3% of ppl knowing about that profession, so you will know more about the thing you are selling then the rest 97% of the population. You might not be the best cold caller or ppl person but you know your shit and thats why they will want your service.

Yeah of course we all get nervous at first. It's worth taking the time to pick a few random businesses that you don't mind if they take your services or not... and just contact them directly, practice your phone and in person skills. When you do get the clients that are really going to pay you money and will matter, this practice will help immensely.

Congrats on taking action though! You're ahead of 91% of BHW.

Good luck buddy! I hope to see a positive update! I'm working on doing a snail mailing list myself for mobile site creation next week. Let me ask, how did you target your clients?

Also I once heard doing a mailer on monday/tuesday is good if they are local. They will get the mail by weds/thursday which is better then Monday because everyone is expecting junk mail over the weekend but they might look at it more closely mid-week

Very good action taken! I'm looking forward to the results ..
