ClickBank vendor is threatening me?

So I recently switched from product to promote and my old product's vendor became pissed and contacted me on Skype that I have 1 hour to change the hoplink to his product or else he will flag my YouTube video, etc. Is it allowed for ClickBank vendors to threat ClickBank affiliates to promote their product? I don't think so, but I want to avoid trouble with the guy. Any advice? Thanks.

It's not "allowed" but that's business - some vendors are shitty like that. Do you have a lawyer? And where is the vendor based? I would just keep logs of their threats and forward it to my lawyer if they are somewhere like US/UK. Some obviously won't care but good to keep evidence.

Just tell him you are testing another product against his. If your new one converts better he can't really have any legitimate complaints... although that can't stop him flagging your video if he wants to be a dick.

I don't want to participate into legal rebuttals as I'm only 16, the vendor's based in Germany as far as I know. But yeah, basically all he said is that I have 1 hour to put up a redirect to his product or else he will take down my video. But I suppose YouTube's algorithms are preventing that kind of activities, I hope?

OP why don't you ask him for higher pay if he wants you to stay with him. You are obviously bringing him a good flow of customers if he is resorting to threats.
Also do tell him that you can report him to clickbank and that will hurt a lot more then you leaving his product.

If you are using any content provided to you from him such as verbiage, images, videos, logos, or any other kind of media supplied by him and are linking to another offer then you should honor his request. If the content is 100% yours and there is no trace to his campaign in any way shape or form then you can leave your links as they are.

I reverted back to his product, I did use some content which is his property so I guess the right choice would be to redirect the traffic to his product. Thanks for the advice!

if you used his content then he HAS every right to tell you to only promote his product with his material.

Out him right here, so we all know NEVER to deal with that kind of guy. Now that you have made this thread, I'd say you have to out him. Its for the good of the whole community.

This thread will atleast show up on page 2 for his name and the vigilant amongst us always do proper research before driving traffic to anyone.

We can avoid dealing with that guy and prevent any likely issues from such time wasters.

using copyrighted material is serious issue...

Not to mention if you are using review copies that the vendor provided to you trusting you to become an affiliate.
The vendor has every right to do what he did and you should be happy that he asked you first instead of taking direct legal actions against you.

Sneaking behind the vendors back is a nasty thing to do where you can only get blacklisted on CB, the vendor only needs to tell clickbank what you did
and your account can be banned very easily for such actions. Not to mention you will be flagged by CB.
I don't understand the point of the thread here.

You still have to learn a lot of things before doing internet marketing regardless if it is clickbank or any other network.
