A question about Torrents

If I download an ebook, edit that ebook to insert some affiliate links, will people get the updated version of the book if I leave it in my torrent folder and seed it?

hmm , i doubt it but not sure, since the torrent might chance , maybe someone knows better but id say that you need to make new torrent

I dont believe so. Other people will download it okay but it wont save it and it will just keep trying to redownload.

No definitely not. You need to remake the torrent and re-up it. I wish it were as easy as replacing whatever file, but it's not. Think of it this way. Everybody who has the same file as you are also seeding it, but if you had a different version of the file, then the two versions simply would not match up.

Yup, you need to reupload the torrent. The torrent client will check the hash of the file and since the file has changed it will stop uploading.

yah that HASH file wont match then I dont know if your client will give an error, because they have pieces of a file when you download on bittorrent, so when its re-compiled if the hash doesnt match I think it searches for a correct hash file.

I've had the same problem recently and I confirm that you must it is necessary to reupload the torrent otherwise there will be problems with uploading it due to hash mismatch.

OK well, to answer your first question, a Torrent a small file (around few kilobytes) with the file name .torrent, which contains all the information needed to download a file the torrent was made for.(eg. Movies, mp3s, ebooks etc..) Its kind of like catalyst to a download file. That means it contains file names, their sizes, where to download from and so on. How torrents work is the download speed increases proportionately to the number of users downloading the same file and that is the biggest advantage of torrents. (seeders vs leechers)

And for your second question, to keep it brief, you can include things like affiliate links(eg. In ebooks), PPI(pay per install by binding with the software) and many other ways. Search BHW for "torrent" and there's a good amount of starter resources as well as excellent guides.
