Should I tell my AM?

Good afternoon

I got an email telling me that my account was banned because of fraudulent activity and my AM messaged me to ask about my traffic sources. I told him I can't reveal my traffic sources but only that I'm within the guidelines and allowed methods and that I'm not running any incentivized traffic but PPC/Social Media & Display, that if the advertiser has any problems with my traffic I will no longer send them any.

He answered back and told me that they don't normally ask for traffic sources but their advertisers flagged my traffic as fraudulent and in order to stay in their network they have to dig a little deeper to verify my traffic sources.

I'd very much like to consult this with you What do you recommend me?

First of all were u getting many leads?If u were i suggest u dont reveal traffic because they will just steal ur traffic source and send you packing.Also if u are running similar traffic to other CPA networks and they havent yet flagged you then this should be an indicator that they only want to take advantage of you.If you have other CPA accounts i suggest you move on and send traffic to other network.Otherwise if u only have 1 CPA account and arent sending massive amount of leads then you have no choice but to reveal traffic source!Hope that helped buddy!

Can you tell us what's the network ? If you use BH methods you will get banned anyway. I think it is better not to share the methods but give them a brief overview of where is the traffic from (they can still find from referer so they probably know already). When the advertiser makes a complaint they have to either stop you from promoting its offers or shut you down for good.

I blanked the referrer . I don't think it will be a good idea to share the name of the network, hope you don't mind; no offense intended I'll contact my AM again and see how things go.

That is because you blanked the referrer. Hasn't anyone told you that blanking the referrer seems more sketchy than faking it.
Obviously blanked referrer looks suspicious , as to why would anyone would want to blank the referrer in a cpa network. The chances of those being legit are not really high. A lot of cpa networks don't like traffic with blanked referrer, fake it instead.

What a lot of people seem to forget is that if your leads don't convert in the back-end you will be kicked from the advertiser one way or the other. It's simple logic that they are not willing to pay for useless leads, after all CPA is supposed to be a win-win for everyone.

If that's the case and you blank out your referral I completely understand why your account is suspended.

If you do a lot of volume and the advertiser seems happy it shouldn't matter that much for both parties, and your account would still be active. If that's the case just tell them you will move your business elsewhere and are not planning to reveal any sources thus the blank referral.

In your case however I doubt the advertiser is very happy with the results, and they want to keep on top of that relationship.

You're totally right and I agree. My leads were probably not converting, there's no other way than to move on and continue. I'll be better next time, hopefully

Don't listen to this. There are plenty of good reasons to protect your traffic sources, like many big affiliates do.

In your case, the problem is that the leads weren't converting on the back end for advertiser.

They don't care if the reff is blanked, all that matters is that the leads are converting for the advertiser, which they won't if you incentivized non incent offers.

Apologize that the leads aren't converting and mention you'll find another affiliate to send that particular traffic to. If they back down, then they were going to steal your campaign and method of generating traffic.

If they don't back down, then your traffic sucked and really wasn't converting. Finding a different method of converting that traffic would probably be in your best interest, as the pay you get has to be sustainable.

Never tell where you get your traffic or show them your actual campaign landing pages, they'll get stolen.
