Youtube copyright infringements

Hi,

Im a bit confused about the youtube copyright infringement rules. I thought I understood them, but clearly I dont.

So, I uploaded a video to youtube, including footage of call of duty gameplay (just like thousands of other video's have). The video included the use of a cheat for the game. I monetized the video by including a PPD link for the download of this cheat.

The thing is, my video was removed for 'copyright infringement' and the claim was filed by activision themselves (the creators of the game). So does this mean that at any point, Activision could have all the thousands of videos on youtube involving footage of their game removed? If i had made the video of just me talking about this cheat and not included any footage/pictures of their game, would they then have no case to have my video removed?

Yep, they could take them all down. It's their game, they developed and created it, thus they are the legal owner. I guess they didn't liked the cheat you were promoting. Because usually a game developer doesn't mind stuff like let's play videos on Youtube.
If you would make a video of you talking about the cheat without any of their content included you will be fine, they can't do something about that. It's not forbidden to talk about a cheat.

You can use gameplay if they allow it and activision do.

But if you show a mod, hack, cut scene... they will fuck you.

Ok thanks guys. So to be clear, I can make a video promoting the same cheat just as long as I dont include any footage of the game in it?

I've run into another problem now.

I made a keychooser in VB, made a short 30 second video on MY desktop of the keychooser 'working'. Put my PPD link in the description along with instructions of how to use the tool. I was getting pretty decent results, 28 clicks and 6 downloads in the first hour.

Just went to check on the video and got the following message: This video has been removed as a violation of Youtube's policy against spam, scams, and commercially deceptive content.

And my account has been 'permanently disabled' even though this was the frst and only video ever uploaded on to that youtube account.

So does anyone know where I've gone wrong this time and how to avoid it? Coz I would like to reupload the video again considering I was getting decent results with it.
