Would you be interested in FUNDING your Blackhat projects ?

Hello,
This isn't a new concept but I was just thinking if people would make use of a crowd-funding website exclusively for Blackhat projects.
Say you have an idea and are good in programming and you need to hire people or buy something in order to develop your Youtube Messaging software or some other program and are in need of money. So you list your project here and write in the details and the rewards for people who fund you. If someone sees potential in your project he/she will donate some amount and if the project doesn't raise the minimum amount set by the project creator, then all the money goes back to the people.

I have some good hosting and a lot of bandwidth which isn't being used to the fullest and I thought maybe I can put up a site where anyone can list their projects they have in mind and look for funding from the visitors in return for a free copy of the developed software etc.

What do you guys think? Would enough people make use of it or is it pointless ? Would you be interested?

p.s: I posted this in the JV section as it would be most relevant to the people there, but seems it would take some time to show up, if at all, after a mod reviews it. Sorry if there is a double post but I just wanted some quick opinions.

p.p.s: I am not looking for any money or joint ventures, I just want opinions.

it is a nice idea however the success of any crowdfunding is in the "crowd" if you can bring enough people to support projects then it might succeed.

I wanted to do this with 3D projects where we will offer custom 3D modeling for a pocket money ($20 or so.) but I never had time to start this project. The point was to get at least 100 people funding the project before we start.
So, I like your idea, but you need to find reasonable ammount of people to back the project.

Yes, you are right. It needs people. The site can be ready in a day, but people have to actually go there and list their project and have others look at it for potential financiers. Guess they'll have to advertise it themselves...

It seems the idea didn't receive much interest afterall. Shame, I believe such thing would contribute to the development of the whole industry, and less monopolizing by the big dogs.

yeah I was asking I was going to say they could do it on my crowdfunding site and to pm me. I come on here alot and read the info so I really didnt have a problem with helping the people who help me when I need it.

I actually think this is a really good idea. I know there's other crowd-funding sites out there for more legit business ideas but it would be cool to have one for smaller IM based projects as well. Eskimo you still thinking of setting somethin like this up?

He hasn't been back in a while so I'd say go for it. It's a really good idea.
