My review of Jack Sparrow - I wasn't expecting too much, as I only ordered the basic service. The developers of the website are really annoying me as multiple websites have been set up, therefore duplicate content and having to teach them about rel=canonical etc and telling them that they should do a redirect is a pain in the bum. However something surprising happened:

- For 3 straight days, 2 of the keywords actually went to the top 40 of Google for the canonical website but they disappeared out of the top 200
- One of the keywords for the website that is now the canonical website one keyword is ranked 127 in Google.com and 107 in Bing.

While the results for me are inconclusive as I'm not sure how canonical affects multiple websites with duplicate content, something happened. I don't know whether it was due to this campaign or whether it was due to something else as the target website was not affected in the rankings, but it was interesting nevertheless.
