Hey guys, got an issue with something I brought on another site, was wondering which is the better route to take? I paid via PayPal on my credit card and want my money back, is it better to chase PayPal and hope they have money there or should I go strait for a charge back? Look forward to peoples input. Thanks.

Just do a paypal dispute and you should get your money
if he refuse to pay back, then file charge back, i know it takes longer
Good Luck

I'd go through PayPal first, that way the person will not do whatever they did wrong to you again.

If that doesn't work, take the other route

I too would file PP dispute first, its less of a hassle. If it doesn't work you can always do a CC chargeback after (just be sure to escalate it without waiting a month so you don't wait too long in case you need to do a CC chargeback).

Cheers guys, will go the paypal route first.

Most merchants respond if you talk to them first. If that fails then do a dispute. If the merchant persists in being a sumbag or doesn't respond then do a chargeback by calling your credit card company - thats the extreme as it involves paperwork and you really don't want to be too trigger happy and kill the livelihood of some fella like you trying to make a few bucks online.

The most sure fire way to get your money back is to do a chargeback, however if you do so, you might ruin your Paypal account in the process.

Open a PP dispute. They are always on Buyer's side.

Can categorically say thats not true - I have had buyers trying to by stuff then do a PP refund.
In the last few months I have had 4 disputes filled against me and have won everyone of them - maybe they already knew the other party was a thieving / conning PoS I don't know. Think the lat one I escalated as soon as I saw it, submitted evidence and had the money back in my account and case closed in 3 days!!

Touch wood it continues this way.
