Hello,

After a few months of "relax" from the IM, I am back with a few new projects and one of them is related to the MNS with WordPress (yeah, they are not dead) and the first thing that I am doing is escape from any plugin with the word "SEO" on it. So, all that plugins like SEO by Yoast and All In One SEO in my opinion are "dead" plugins.

And the example is: new site with new domain. Plugins installed: SiteMap generator. Results: ranked in the first page in one week. I know that the keyword is the most important thing (competition, results, etc) but the thing is that all the new sites with SEO plugins that I have built are not working, they are taking about one week or more only to INDEX in Google.

What do you think about this?

Let me qualify my remarks: I have not tried that experiment

One test does not a general rule make. Statistically you would need 30 tests for any somewhat valid result, and that would suggest all the sites had equally quality content etc, different hosting & IP ranges .... I think you get the picture.

Maybe start a thread inviting others in the BH community to co-operate with you and thereby get those 30 sites tested ?

I agree, thanks for bringing up your observation though. there is a potential interesting study

There's a big difference between all in one and yoast. Both plugins are only there to assist you with your on page seo. Are you doing all your on page seo manually or are you saying that you are just not bothering with on page seo?

Most emds for non competitive niches will rank page one in the first month or so if you are adding fresh content. I would be more interested in your longterm results.

I only use the plugin for the inpage SEO calculations and the sitemaps but I upload the sitemap via google webmaster tools, and submit url manually to have google crawl it... never took me more than a couple of hours to get it indexed.

That is so not true.
I have Yoast and All-In-One.
I use them on all my sites and all of them are indexed within a week.

Not sure why it is not working for you but its definitely not "dead"

As for the All in One SEO plugin it generally helps you to define title and meta tags for every page of your website. It is not some magical plugin that "optimizes" the website, so from my point of view it does not matter what way you define the title and meta tags - with or without the plugin.

What? This is extremely ridiculous. Why are you blaming a plugin for not being able to rank? It's all about on and off page. I have never, ever heard of a SEO plugin causing ranking issues unless it contains malware or slows down your site speed (like those stats counters).

Please get something more conclusive and get off your weed before you choose to indiscriminately flame the shit out of a harmless plugin.

Ouh calm down bad boy! What I am trying to explain is that I think that Google is starting to look at this plugins as "the-perfect-google's-page" would not use All In One SEO for any purpose.

Since the plugins are doing almost the same things as you would do this by yourself ( writing the code I mean) I can't see why Google would hunt these projects.

Also, if some plugin is working on project A and it's indexed in 3 days, it doesn't mean project B using other plugin is bad just because the website it's indexed in 10 days :)

All In One SEO is an onpage/site SEO plugin? thats legit SEO thats what google want you to do, what they dont want people to do it build links thats where the perfect google thing comes in play..

For the indexing part... It doesn't matter when your site gets indexed and on witch page. It matters to keep the page 1 ranking and try getting #1. I saw keywords go from #8 to #44 and a few days later #2.... It all doesn't matter. What matters is the foundation you make for later.

Many people want fast results. But there is no fast in SEO. The best way to get #1 ranks easy is super quality self-written content mixed with whitehat SEO mixed with Blackhat knowledge & software. Always think on the long term.

Personally i love SEO plugins, it gives you control of what people see before they enter your website.

Will agree with spookyloot the plugins helps gain ctr on google and make everything super easy to use. As for there are no fast results, there are you can easily go rank#1 by throwing money at it but it wont last long as you said the foundation you build will lead to having a very strong position that wont fall.
