Facebook Ads...any good for Ecommerce?

We are a startup offering customized pillows, bedsheets, curtains etc at http://www.picfab.com
We are looking to start advertising on facebook. Do you think we are on right track? Is Facebook a goood platform to promote such products?

Also, I'd appreciate if someone can share an ad coupon for the begining.

I know about picfab and some internal stories. FB ads is definitely a good bet if played well. Take a look at Jabong's, snapdeal's campaigns. Make sure you get people to "signup" for discounts or something like that. Build a base, interact and engage to keep it going for a long run. Don't try to sell in the first attempt.

i consider fb more into dating niche...nobody is for serious business on FB..

Facebook adds as stated before work on dating and also B2B <--- which was a surprise for me ( did campaigns for a software SAP company for around 5-7k a month for 6 months with really good ROI. Hope it heps

No offense but you are greatly mistaken my friend, maybe because of your limited research n knowledge.

If you know how to play the game then you can make serious business (not just in terms of money but making a fanbase etc) from FB as it has the world's largest user base.

An Update: I ran a contest yesterday and spent like $5 on advertising. And to my surprise, I have already got over 100 likes, 70 shares and a reach of over 35k people. So,I guess I did good??

The contest runs for 10 more days and will advertise for 2 or 3 times more in intervals.

This is wrong that FB ads only work for dating/gaming. There are alot more niches that convert extremly well.

Let's take example - wrinkle niche. People made alot by selling products, they still are. If anyone have access to socialadninja, you can see, there are alot of other products, that being promoted. I have Chinese friend who have been banking hard with sunglasses products on different countries. She have been doing it for 3-4 years. It's all about finding the right audience and getting high CTR.

So if people have failed promoting cc conversions, they are not doing things right.

If your funds are limited and you are going to stick with your pillow niche for longer period, start by building fan page. It seems to be converting alot better when you triple sell your products. You can also reach to alot more people.

FB ads would work great with ecommerce - you just need to test, test & test to see what works best for you.

Put out little budgets & keep testing .. once you get what is right for you then scale it up. GL
