Hey everyone! I am thinking of starting a gaming channel. I have a largeish fanpage and will use that to drive views to the videos.

Before i invest in the equipment for this, i was wondering what tools yall would recommend. I have been doing some reading, but i wanted to see what my BHW brethren use :)

Edit:

I should add that in addition to game pay videos i am interested in doing videos that will have a very attractive girl discussing the latest news from the gaming world. What would be a good but affordable option for a video capture device?

THANKS EVERYONE!

Hi. If you want to record your screen i recommend Mirillis Action! For video editing I would recommend Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas Pro. For recording and editing voice free program - Audacity. This is a good stuff. Im using it and it's working nice.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely check those programs out.

Pics of the girl please.

Ummm......how about no.

If you want me to tell you a good capture device

you'll have to inform me on what console you play PC or other.

if your recording on pc
use fraps or bandicam to record , fraps = better quality but large files , bandicam = good quality and files smaller
and vegas pro for rendering and editing
for recording audio only audacity is free and you can't get anything better

I get 1080 HD videos with Fraps. Simple and Stable.
Vegas pro is propably the most used and the best ones out there.
I don't use audacity, fraps automatically records my microphone. So the audio is place in the video.

Remember to be kinda different, there's alot of gaming channels that do the same stuff.
If people are going to watch funny amnesia videos, they'll preffer Pewdiepie from other gaming channels that does the same.

Be unique
Be One-of-a-kind
Be Smart
And be active - A lot. :D

I get your idea of using a girl in your video but it will be your downfall because she'll be the only reason people will even watch your videos. You'll be doing 95% of the work and she'll be getting 100% of the credit.
imho starting a gaming commentary channel in 2013 is a waste of time people will just watch the big youtubers. You better add something never done before to your videos to stand a chance

and fraps is good for recording on a PC just takes a lot of space

If you're going to be doing console gaming, Elgato or HD PVR are great choices. I use a PVR, and I love the simplicity and quality. The downside is that it's a bit on the expensive side. For PC gaming, I have to say Fraps is probably the best choice, while Sony Vegas appears to be the consensus editor of choice. Best of luck to you!
