Hey guys i have got to the point where i have over 20 sites now and having 5 hostgator accounts already costing me $75 monthly atm and is annoying constantly having to switch users and password when i need to change something in cpanel so i was thinking about dedi server but im not sure how many sites a low end dedi can handle $175/m cheapest on HG

Why don't you host all the domain in a single account? You can host unlimited domains with the baby plan.

A VPS would work as well for $50-80/month. I wouldn't do that however. If something happens and Google penalizes the sites on one host you only lose 20% of your sites. On a VPS google could deindexed all of your sites at the same time.

Sorry bro but this is a false statement. That won't happen unless they are all linked together. You know how many site share DNS in the shared hosting, when one will get deindex all of them will get deindex. Are you crazy???? Like I said, sorry but what you are saying it's non-sense.

You can buy blocks of IP's and many hosting companies like namecheap.com, hostgator.com will give you different blocks. But back to the OP.

You can order a VPS that will range up to $80 with many different IP's. And you will have better control of the data, and you can do things you could not do on the shared accounts.

Good luck.

With a VPS you usually get your own nameservers, you don't share them. I had 50 sites on a VPS, some had content, others didn't, some had private registration, others didn't. All 50 of those sites were deindexed one day. They weren't linked and had nothing else in common except for the shared nameserver. I had 7 IPs shared across the 50 domains.

if i were you i would pick up a VPS with several IPs and move everything there

Check out webhost talk, http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=36

Companies usually post awesome deals on there.

Cheers!

An IP block requires a $1k/year fee to ARIN on top of the cost of the IPs. IP blocks are only given to hosts/isps/large companies and if I recall the smallest they issue now is a /21 which is 2048 IPs. I also think its 0.50 per IP so that's another $1k/year. The net block name is also what you choose.

For the DNS, on hostgator/godaddy you're with hundreds of thousands of others. Probably white listed by google or has no effect on SEO. If you use a private nameserver you're more likely to be hit.
