Im not here to try and tell anyone how to make money online. But one thing Ive learned over the years is, sell yourself before you try to sell a product. If you site visitors trust you, and know that you have their best interests at heart, they are far more likely to get out a credit card when you recommend a product.
If you were looking to buy a 2nd hand car, who would you buy it from? A good friend that you trusted, or a ripoff car salesman? Thats no different from selling products online, IMO.

I would say to any newbie, find a product that solves a big problem for a lot of people. Don't promote anything you don't believe in. and study all the aspects of the things you need to learn to effectively market your solutions. You have to approach and learn each method of marketing in great detail and in little increments at a time.
In other words you have to be very methodical and organized in how you teach yourself, otherwise you will waist a lot of time and effort. One of the first things you need is to have a plan of what you need to learn first, and delegate a certain amount of time each day for every task.
Your whole approach to your learning and marketing should be of the mind set that you are building a business not playing the lottery or riding some get rich quick scam. This is a business and you have to constantly have this in mind.
Also you need to place a definite value on what your time is worth an hour, the reason for this is to better know what task you should outsourcing and those things that you should be doing personally. This is important because because successful business know how and what things should be leveraged.
And with any business you have to approach it with the understanding that your going have to make an investment into your business with some money and a lot of time.
I truly believe this is the only way you will make it at this thing called internet marketing.

some good pointers on here.
i have to agree with coreygeer and davenl on that....this site has been an unbelievable help to me and many others.i am very much a newbie to this whole thing. i am only 24 and looking lean and soak as much info as possible so that i can find ideas and then try to find out what will work for me to lean to start an online buisiness. im using a few ideas to make some quick cash but only until i can find a way to find something i can implement long term. There so many helpful people on here willing to help and share there ideas and info on here for free its just a godsend.I cant thank you guys enough.Hopefully i will be able to come back one day and share what ive learned and help future noobies with the things ive learned.

I think it was said in another thread, the key to winning in this game is to just f*ckin DO IT! Get in there and mix it up a bit, read and study all you can, get stuff online regardless of how cr*ppy it looks and just keep on hacking away.
The KEY, though, is to DO IT!

exactly! if you dont know how to make a site or a landing page, elance type of site is your friend - 50$.
This is what I am doing. I am just starting out but I have some small business experience. I have to say this advice and a couple of other posts online would save anyone who is trying to make money doing anything lots and lots of pain, time, and heartache. Thanks.

Nice newbie article. Definitely a sticky post. From the number of people still asking the same questions, I don't think this will go out of style anytime soon. What I mean is that there is nothing in this post that is trendy, just good info.
