What is a good rate for articles?

So I was just wondering what BHW thought about an average price per 350 word unique article by a freelancer.

The best I have got is 50 articles written about 350 words each a fellow offered $60. But I am a newbie and maybe this isn't amazing.

That seems like a good deal. The general pay rate is around $1 per 100 words for really high quality content. 50 articles at that rate for you would be 175, so 60 is a great deal, just make sure the content is what you are expecting.

Mate, accept an offer worth $60.00 to write 50 x 350-word articles if that's your worth. From my perspective being a provider of content writing services, that isn't worth any of my employee's time because none of them eat grass for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I live in Asia, specifically here in the Philippines, and we know that the cost of living is not as high as other developed or even some developing countries. Prior to owning a registered (and tax-paying) online business, I started as an online freelance writer. For my first month, I charged less than a dollar per 100 words, not because that's my worth but I was still trying to test the waters.

Fast forward, I learned that there's, indeed, money online. So I raised it up to $1.00 per 100 words. Later when I realized I should stick to what I think is the worth of my employees, I picked it up to $2.00 per 100 words. I politely decline offers that do not understand the rule of the this Earth is pretty simple - "Buy peanuts. Get monkeys."

Today, you can't make ME sit and write something for anything less than $0.50 per word.

I'm writing this post not to boast but to simply open your eyes to charge what you are worth of.

No that is what I wanted. Thank you it is very helpful. I checked some of his previous articles but you never know if he wrote them or how much time he spent perfecting his examples. I originally said 30 and I would give him a list of 50 articles to write about and he mis heard me and said he would do 50 for $60.

i would order a small test batch so that you know what you are getting.

The quality of english can be quite poor.

For that many articles, i'd imagine some form of automation is happening in the background.

Poor grammar. Not something I'd expect from a world-class writer.

To the OP - the amount you pay decides the quality of work you get. I can get content as cheap as .50\100 words but the quality is pretty bad and only usable for second tier and lower sites.
