How to setup usb fax modem.

Hi,

I just bought a usb fax modem, I'm trying to figure how to set them up.

Here is how I have it curretly -

the phone line is connected to the wireless router and a home phone using a splitter.

And then my laptop simply have the usb fax modem plugged in.

The other side of the usb fax modem have a jack for plugging phone line, do I need to put phone line here aswell or the phone line is alredy connected via wireless router, it seems everything is connected to each other.I'm confuse how to set it up.

Fax is an analogue device so yes you need to plug it into the phone line. It does not need to be plugged into the router at all, just the phone jack side of your splitter

you mean, I need to connect phone line to the fax modem, and then the fax modem to the pc via usb, am I correct ? does it mean a telephone is not neccessary to receive and send faxes ?
