I'm getting really different results from different SERP tools when I run a SERP check on my website! Is there a method to check out the definitive SERP without interference from location, cookies, or whatsoever?

From what I've gathered:
  • Doing a Google.com search on my primary keyword shows my website as #1 via Google Chrome, Traffic Travis also reports this.
  • However, Serpbook doesn't even detect my website on Google's rankings.
  • Internet Explorer shows my website on page #4, that's like rank #30-40, just like it was 1-2 days ago.
  • Firefox shows my website as #2.

Has Google gone to a bloody disco or something? Everything's dancing like crazy?!

Use Google's Ad Preview Tool: https://adwords.google.com/d/AdPreview/

It shows your position based on the settings you specify.

You can also build a custom rank checker using Zenno. I did that once and it worked flawlessly, although you have to purchase private proxies which can cost more per month than a rank checker.

Are you logged into google when you search? I mean, logged into G+ or gmail. This can sometimes skew results. Try running a standard keyword search in incognito in chrome or private in IE.

Thanks, it shows my website as #1. Hopefully it's true, if it is I can expect to make sales now, hopefully!

I usually do my searches in Incognito Mode on Chrome, shows my website on #1. Firefox shows me as #2 running In-Private Browsing. Internet Explorer shows me as #30-40 running In-Private Browsing too.

How strange. I find this rank tracker works well: http://www.link-assistant.com/rank-tracker/

You don't get all the bells and whistles with the free version, such as saving previous searches; but for everyday searches it works nicely.

Great, my website is being shown as #1 using this tool. Maybe IE, Firefox, and Serpbook are a bit slow on updating...

Try this site

http://www.seoserp.com/web_tools/google_top_1000_serps_checker.asp

I use serpbook and sometimes it takes time to update. You could also try adding your url with or without the "www."

Other issues I had was having punctuation in the keywords I was tracking. You may also want to look for leading spaces in the keywords.

Thanks, my website didn't even show up on seoserp.com. But the previous times I used it wasn't working properly, so it might still be the case.
My keyword doesn't have any punctuation, frankly. But thanks for the advice.

You could try using tor. Look for the torbunddle. Each time you start the browser it gets a new ip address using various proxies.

I have tried many different ones, I have found SERPBuddy to be the most accurate, I use them for tracking all my sites, and they are the most accurate that I've been with so far.

Hey, thanks for this great share! This should come in handy for me multiple occasions! It also reports my website is on #1. I think this pretty much confirms it.

Sorry, not really bothering with paying for another SERP tracking service. I hope you understand.

Well then I am sorry to say but you will not be able to find a good SERP Tracker with good features, hard to find good free ones, and most are inaccurate.

Because rank trackers use different methods to check the SERPs, rank tracker #1 may use method #1, rank tracker #2 may use method #2.

I've tried most of the online SERP trackers out there, and so far SERPBuddy is the most accurate and consistent. Some online trackers which I will not name have "gaps" in their rankings, probably due to bad proxies, making rankings very inconsistent. SERPBuddy gives me continuously updated and accurate ranking graphs. Although it is far from perfect, I'd still definitely recommend it as it's reliable.

I think SERPBuddy is the best out there, it is consistent with its results and its also accurate.

I use all-serp-checker which is free and check Google,Yahoo,Bing All Country Domain version serps.
