Alright, here is the deal. I am thinking about opening a new service thread here on BHW. I do not want to name it yet, so not to cause any TOS trouble. However, I know that my reputation is 0 and that I am a low-level member to most everyone here.

What I would like to know is, what should I do in order to help garner attention (and traffic)? I was thinking something along the lines of a free review copy of the service per BHW member (up to 10). What do you guys think?

Yes. You could always give out review copies to reputable members and their reviews will help you to get sales. Apart from that, you could offer relatively low prices to attract people. Your sales copy will also play a role in this.

What would qualify as a reputable member in regards to the your earlier post? How many posts? What level?

I think before starting a service thread you should donate ...so go ahead and check out the tos rules for more info

thanks

You could pay for jr vip status to start. You could also try to rank up your rep and the amount of time you were thanked in threads. You do this by being helpful to people and offering great advice. It is easy to find reputable members on the forum by following the same criteria I mentioned above. They will have been a member for at least a few months, have a high percentage of thanks to posts (similar to to K/D ratio in fps games), they will have lots of reputation points (not below the minimal amount awarded to you for just being a member), and they will make quality posts. At least that is how I try to quantify who is behind the accounts on forums.

Just Provide what exactly you promised on your sales thread! - you will get more orders from the same people, which helps you get more sales from many different people here for sure :)

Cheers!
Bart

Anyone may be reputable. It's hard to tell the quality of a member based on numbers. But still, there are few, who have lots of reputation ( not in terms of forum rep. In terms of actual public reputation). Browse the forum a bit, and you can easily separate the best from the rest. :)

And yes, you need to donate 97$ to the forum to start a BST.

Yeah, JV will do. You can also give away review copies for JrVIPs and above. Start your thread with a cool promo. Then deliver on promise.
Good luck,
D.

1. Become A Donor
2. Become a Jr vip
3. Should have well researched service in place
4. Make a good sales copy
5. Offer Free Review to First 3 Jr vip with minimum 200 post
6. Offer 50% discount for next 5 orders...

and so on...

Oh yes - a JV would work best for a brand new provider. You will automatically get more sales by virtue of the numbers beside the senior member's name. All the best :)

you can also start gaining some reviews through posting a reviewers thread first
