I'm about to start a blog selling certain currently hot devices, and need to know if EMD is still a viable option for SEO?

All the posts that I see promoting EMD are at least a year or two old and pre-Panda. I'm wanting to purchase the domain and make the blog live tonight, so if someone knowledgeable could give me a quick reply I would oso appreciate it and give thanks.

Oh...

My master plan = Blog + Amazon Affiliate Products + My own SEO + Adsense? Do any of you put Adsense on your blogs of this nature?

What do you guys think? If it earns, I'm thinking about putting up a How-to, because I've picked up most of this plan through posts here on BHW & would like to give back.

I still rank EMDs all day long with HIGH PR links. Totally still viable. Not sure how they work with affiliate links though...

I found a keyword that has 2 million searchs per month in youtube and its EMD .com isn't registered, should i register it?

Yes. EMD still work, at least in my experience. Might not be given as much weight as they have in the past, but they are working just fine for me with good back-linking strategy.

Content is still king (more than ever, I should say). Google has had a real impact on poor quality (euphemism) sites ! But EMD + quality content seem to be effective. Still.

IMHO, EMD works for untapped niches very well but it gets weak for hard to rank keywords. You may use partial match domain. And using adsense with Amazon is OK.

Thanks for the replies guys! Looks like it's EMD for me.

I see posts telling me to wait to put Adsense on your sites after they are indexed. Why? Exactly how are Adsense earnings affected if you go ahead and include Adsense right off the bat?

I understand that "content is king", as the poster above & everyone else will tell you, which is why I'm debating making this an autoblog.

An autoblog would get me content with less work and stress, but unique content would be better I understand. What would the advantage of an autoblog be in my situation? Could someone sell me on it?

Should I even consider an autoblog being that this is mainly just a store?

EDIT: Using WP Zon Builder for autoblog! :)

This whole content king notion is somewhat valid...but I've ranked several EMD with just a youtube video and a couple sentences.

It's about the backlinks and anchor text diversity

I was checking the side effects some drugs on Google for reference and I found that most of the EMD were on first page. One of the websites had about 30-40 pages all about side effects and all of them ranked well.

Ezines help you establish yourself as an expert in your field. When current and prospective clients receive your ezine filled with helpful information that is relevant to their needs, desires, and interests, they will begin to regard you as a source of information. Not only that but when they have questions or needs, you may very well be the first person that they call on for help simply because you obviously know your stuff and because your regular contact puts you foremost in their minds. Ezines are also still an amazing marketing tool.

Yes, I'm 100% sure about this. I'm trying to rank a .org EMD domain and now I am doing well, now my keywoord is ranking at #10.

Very cool. #10 isn't too shabby for most niches.

So I have a question for you and your #10 Ranking Equal Match Domain... where does #10 land for your particular subject? I have some sites in Paranormal subjects that are still on page one of Google and Bing all the way up to #14 or so, but then I have some eCommerce efforts that #7 and lower are already pushing down Page 2... the rest are all Paid Ads...

...of course. (sigh)

I'm sorry but today my keyword is ranking at #13, everyday is dancing like crazy! Sometimes I'm #7 sometimes #10... By the way, There is no ads, the first position are images, the second is an authority website, the #3, #4 and #5 are YouTube videos, the rest of the ranking is crap...
