suggestion, $5 BST area?

What do you guys think of having a BST section on here, where everything is 5 dollars?

Might as well cut the middle man of fiverr out of the picture, if we can.

I think the reason why some people choose Fiverr is to gain exposure. I agree with ProxyGo is that the line between that and BST would be too blurred.

Not everyone knows about BHW, but Fiverr, seeing as it's more "above ground", people know about it. So the sellers setup shop there.

I've seen a lot of freelance work pop up latley. In the three months I've been here, I've also seen a ton of people posting job at very lowball prices. Maybe the new talent could get their feet wet, while allowing others to outsource some of their work... I don't know about you, but I'd rather give the business to a fellow BHW member if I had the choice.

I get what you are saying. The thing is, like I said, is the reason why quite a bit of sellers setup shop on Fiverr is to gain more exposure, in addition to BHW, for example. Not because it's better, per se.

We don't have the staff or the infrastructure set up to handle an operation like fiverr. Even with mid-priced products, the BST section is swamped and we have had to bring on dedicated staff members to handle the moderation issues; vb was not meant to handle a marketplace. Lowering the price point to five dollars would compound these problems exponentially.

With that said, it is not my call to make. But I don't see it happening without a dedicated domain/subdomain and a lot of investment in a custom backend.

why its not great for BHW:
The day it will be implemented we'll have like 100 BSTs popping everyday, and not to mention the extra load of work for the mods.
i know it'll be good for buyers to get some cheap stuff but not overall for forum, umm not.

Stupid, visit fiverr if you want that shit. The BST section is already becoming a serious sess pool of services most of them just flat out copies of someone elses there used to be a time when only unique services were allowed, its a mess already so fuck adding a fiverr clone to the mix.

I personally am against this idea. The BST section itself has dropped in quality. The BST Section contains LOTS services that are over-priced and low quality. unfortunately people stopped aiming for "Quality" but now aim only for Quantity, VERY sad to hear that.

And adding $5 stuff to it would just make it even worse, I hope this suggestion doesn't get accepted, sorry but it's my opinion and I am sure many other will agree with me.

Personally I don't like the idea.

Even if you had a SEPARATE section for $5 services, many people will visit that section and leave out the main BST.

I agree with t0mmy and Luka. A year ago this forum had quality services, which were unique. Now you have the same service being provided by the same people with minor changes. In other words, more people are focusing on quantity rather than quality. If anything, I think the only good change would be to categorize the section into a section for SEO / ARTICLE WRITING / DESIGN, etc.
