article marketing will get you great back-links to your site. If you offer a product or service, it is by far one of the easiest ways to position yourself as an expert. By posting to ezine and isnare with multiple articles where in the "about the author" section you have a link and back to your site, you can get great back links that goggle loves, especially if they have great content.For the site in my sig, I lost a top ranking, then got it back after I wrote articles that related to the keywords I was trying to get number 1 for and it put me back at number one after a week, being that it crawled the article from ezine.

Initially, you need to work on creating high quality content. While working on content creation, you need to simultaneously go through this forum and acquire as much information as you can about SEO and blogging. Once you're done creating some high quality stuff and knowing some basic know-how of SEO, then in other words, you'll able to attract readers. Thereafter, you need to start working on the SEO part of the blog. Start slow. There's no need to be desperate for success. If you're patient and regularly work harder towards your goal, then it becomes easier to scale it.

Go through blogs of niche ( in other words, competitors) and understand their pattern and style. Try incorporating their positive aspects and ignore their negative aspects. You can even befriend some experienced bloggers and get their help to improve the standard of your blog. There are many experts and knowledgeable people on this forum, so if you come up with a genuine question, then you'll get great replies. Sometimes more than you ever expected.

That is pretty much the exact formula I use to grow traffic to my blog with great success so far. Ironically its the least popular post but offers the most value imo.

The only investment really is time so its perfect for someone in your position.

This is the best thing I would suggest since you are just starting and BHW has got some really cool information which would help you to start with. You can check out the "Blackhat SEO" and "Whitehat SEO" sections of the forum to know what they actually mean. You could also check out the "Blogging" section since it has got some really great information as well.

Make sure to read the sticky threads in this section, they would help you a lot since they were made sticky for a reason.

I think people have varying definitions of what 'valuable' content is.

Valuable content isn't usually crafted from keyword research, it is crafted from spending time understadning your audience and the problems they face/concerns they have and then solving that through the content you produce.
