I was previously known here as DSMPowah!, but since I've started my IM business, I wanted to build a more business rep here and to get rid of my stupid old username.

Pretty sure it's against the rules to have two usernames. I'd consult with a mod about deleting your old one. You can get banned for this. Just a little heads up.

I did ask Diamond Damien, but he said that they don't allow username changes. I did ask if I could make another, and he said yes as long as I deleted the old one, which I am.

Yeah? Even though the rules are strict about that, I'd have went with that as well. OP, you really should consult with a mod before they see this thread. They're strict with rules sometimes, but hey rules are rules.

you didnt abandon the other account your logged in it right now

I think as you have closed the Old account yourself and inform a Mod that you are closing old one and make a new one. it is allowed. Afterall you informed even with this Thread that who was you..!!

A banned status gives the impression of someone not obeying the rules or being a bad person, why not just lock the account and set the status to Deactivated instead?

I agree with you, Banned tag would cause his old name being under question mark for people who didn't read this update!

Nothing really, I just wanted to use my business name, since I plan one staying long term here and would like to build a rep with my business. My old username was kind of goofy and off haha.

Well, found one small issue. My home IP is banned still and it's static. Gotta PM an admin again. Hope they don't kill me. Haha.

Yeah, we'll it was probably an automatic ban system or something when I created the new account.
