[GUIDE] Make money with HTML, CSS and JavaScript basic skills

I'll explain you a method I used and I still use today to make around $50 - $100 per day easily.
Here is the method in few words : making Mac OS X applications in HTML/CSS/JS for the Mac App Store.

What kind of application ?
Small games of course ! With HTML5 + CSS3 you can build amazing games.
The tips is here : you don't have to build the game from scratch. Why ? Because thousands of HTML5 games already exists !
So you'll have just to find one and modify images and CSS, to make it unique.

You are not convinced by the idea ? Look at this HTML5 game? : http://agent8ball.com/
Below, you'll find a list of websites about HTML5 games collections.

Why using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ?
Because all Mac computer uses WebKit as web render engine, so all animations are smooth and HTML5 APIs are very well managed.
For example, you can use HTML5 LocalStorage API to save game best scores.

Requirements
Because this method is working very well, it can't be done without tools.
I'm sure that most of you will not have those tools (from now) or the desire to experiment, so this method is almost unbreakable in time.

You'll need :

Sentenza Desktop is a great tool I use to compile HTML, CSS, JS and images files into a Mac OS X application.
All is customizable (window height, width, resizable, icon, credits, status bar buttons, fullscreen mode, webGL, ?).
Otherwise, if you are a Xcode/Objective-C coder you can build your own package, but from my experience it's time lost.

Collection of HTML5 games

Copying is shame !
I understand ! Copying is the easiest but not the most respectable way?

If you don't want to burn in hell you can build your game from semi-scratch.
Around the web you'll find a lot of tutorials about how to create his own games, example : http://www.designer-daily.com/10-cool-html5-games-and-how-to-create-your-own-23820

The first game I published has been copied from another one, and when I seen the enthusiasm for those applications I decided to build the second one from scratch (it took me 7h to build, and he brought me up to $800 so far, about 20-25 days).

Some examples please ?
Sorry, but you'll understand that I can't show you what games I used to deploy on the Mac App Store? :)
Here is an HTML5 game available on the Mac App Store, but not built by me : https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/onslaught-arena/id418268106

Is there an alternative to paid games ?
Yes ! Why not making a free game and include some ads like AdSense or Ad4Game ?

Why only Mac OS X ?
Simply because WebKit is the best engine to render HTML ; WebKit is available by default on Mac OS X.
In future, with a game ready for Mac OS X you'll be able to deploy it on iPhone, iPad, iPad Mini, iPod Touch, ...

Conclusion
This method is a real and serious way to make money online.
As said, it requires some tools and a bit of work at beginning ; but I'm almost ready to bet that you'll earn money.

Good luck :)

Hi . I'm really interested in ur method . but I'm a newbie . Can someone tell me how i can copy an entire html5 game and start modifying it ?
I'll be grateful if u guys could give me an insight on how to do it . Thanks

PS: Btw I want to convert the games to android . because in the country I live I dont have access to either paypal or appstore . So my only option is to convert html5 games to android apps and sell them on local android app markets.

Im interested too, but I would like some kind of video tutorial how to do it, can you create one for us for a minimal price if you want please.

I believe this method is still viable? Thanks for the share.
