Well guys this is my News Portal Website i am playing with.
Please take a look snoop around and tell me if you like it if you don't like. If you have an idea what i could do better.
Be honest.

Use excerpts so that the whole story isn't posted. Make your logo stand out more (bigger) and help fill the white space in the header.

Blacky,

I think you have a pretty good start here. There are just a few things I would suggest. Try removing the dark grey bar with the link to the home page in it. It takes up valuable space and doesn't really serve a good purpose. Make you logo larger and use that as the home page link. Also, the site seems to take a long time to load. It didn't score that bad in a Google site speed analysis (85 out of 100) and perhaps its my connection but it just seemed slow.

Just FYI, I'm getting a malware warning when I visit the site.

The header all looks a bit unfinished. I'd make the logo bigger, at the moment it looks like it's been stuffed in the top left corner and as another poster says, I'd take out the link to the homepage that's above it and just make the logo direct back to the home page. Also, the text that's over on the right side I would remove from there and place it under the logo all in one line. At the moment it just looks a bit crammed in. In my view, the same goes for the news stories - a bit more spacing would make it look a little more like it flows. The basics are perfectly good though, a good start.

I must say, I really like the news ticker. Maybe replace the grey home bar with that, and make the font red? :D
