Hi,
Was just wondering as to which webhost can help me host a website that has about 40k uniques per day and counting? I am in the process of hosting a website that has the potential of reaching 40k within a few days and would just like to enquire about a webhost that has the capability to host such a website without any downtime.
If there are any potential web hosting people, do get in contact with me about the rates if you feel that you can fulfill my needs on web hosting.

Thanks

It all depends on the kind of site you are hosting and bandwidt. A simple html based site could be handled by a small VPS while you would need a cluster of webservers for a youtube style video site.

I would go anywhere that has a cloud. this way your website will not crash (only slow down) and you can easily upgrade it as needed.

Basically it's an e-commerce website but there are a lot of javascripts and software that shall be running in it. Its an interactive website, so any ideas on the bandwidth or hosting for a site like this?

It is not a problem any hosting company to handle your 40k uniques per day. It is really up to you what kind of investment you want. If you expect 40k unique to be hosted on shared web hosting for $4.95 than you miss the goal. But if you really want your 40k visitors to open your web site than you really have to think to go for VPS middle-to up level or rent some dedicated box. There is no such thing like free ride in hosting business so be ready to pay to get some quality service and be satisfied.

Budget is about 100$ per month

The type of site that you have is more important that the number of visitors you have.

I have a reseller account with micfo.com on which I host a few sites.

I have a site that gets 60000 uniques a months. I have a wallpaper site that consumers GBs of bandwidth every week.

These two sites never create any problem for me. The site that creates problems for me is a site that gets 30-40 uniques a day. The reason is that it uses a large database and that puts a lot of load on the servers.

I tried to move that site to hostgator and hostgator's servers could not handle it. I had to move it back to micfo.

My suggestion for you - a VPS with wiredtree.

Wiredtree is actually quoting a price for the configs that some other VPS provider is doing for half the amount with better specs. But thanks anyways, still looking out for more companies.
