I assume that many of you are going to reply "I love IM". Bue, how did you get into IM? Was not money the motivational object which drove you into it? Is not a consuming society which blindly tell us what we need to do the reason why we all spending 24/7?

In anycase, see what your thoughts are, coz this guy says some big truths.

If you want something all you need to do is do it.
If you want a ferrari, because you truly want it, and not because society shows you that having a ferrari will bring you more women. Then go ahead and do it, nothing is stopping you.

This video simply argues about today's society and what a compulsive disease money has become.

In anycase, nobody is going to change because of a video, and that includes me. Im still going to get back and keep working on my business, but with all honesty, I think the video really says something important.

That's ok to some degree but I think the walls are falling in on this liberal idea of YOLO and be selfish, don't live for others, live for yourself etc.

For one, you DO need money to not just survive but also realize some dreams because the world runs on money, it's highly capitalistic.

Second, you can't just do what the fuck you want. People have obligations and other stuff. In life, you sometimes have to make sacrifices and can't be 100% selfish and you've got to think of others.

It's true that people on their deathbed often say "I wish I'd done what I wanted and not listened to others" but at the end of the day, we are not lone species. We are social, we build relationships and interdependencies. Unless you're an orphan with no friends, you can't simply do what the hell you want.

Although I can agree with you to some extent, I believe the guy is not talking about the idea of "YOLO" and being selfish. He is simply saying to follow your dreams and do what you really want. Maybe your dreams are to live with children of africa and help them growing up.

But yes, this is highly unlikely to do because as you said, the world runs on money and it is highly capitalistic.

The world does not run on money. It runs on desires.

If all resources were overabundant, money would not exist. Since resources are not overabundant, humans act accordingly to fulfill whatever their want most - and that process requires production and trade. That 's were money comes it. It 's a means to each person 's ends.

The main point which video conveys is to do what you love doing not what others want you to do. If you want to be a painter, so be it. If you want to be an IMer so be it. At the end of the day its your desire will be make you keep working.

There are basically 2 kinds of people in the society. One which loves to do what they want and they don't care what others say and never hesitate to take risk
Other kind of people always want some sort of security and they are always under the pressure of someone.

The first group have more potential and more probability to be rich since they do what they love and trust me, money is everywhere but some just dont understand it. In IM its different, we run on the basis of numbers i.e money but I do love the process by which we make money. Look at Warren Buffet, his business always moved around "how much money can I make" so there is nothing bad in targeting money. Just do what you love.

I know many of my friends who are living a crap life now because they chose to do what society wanted or what they thought would bring them more money. (Hint: Engg, medicine).

Think about it, If you are 25 years old then you have roughly 50 to 60 years to live which is around 21 to 22k days. So the clock is ticking and don't waste the day doing what you dont like.

Tier 1 = do it
Tier 2 = receive for doing it
Tier 3 = bank and go buy your fancy car

I don't think that video actually meant "do what you want to do even if it costs you $80,000 in the process which you don't have to do so" that would be silly wouldn't it!

You can't really "enjoy riding a Ferrari" besides the fact that ferrari's can not be rode firstly but true to the fact I bet you haven't actually driven a Ferrari to know how you would enjoy it in the first place... That would be something to 'aspire' too rather than 'enjoy' doing and to reach that goal you need to start the long an tedious part of life link building, rinse and repeat my method above!
